Role and Responsibilities:
As a Maths teacher at Toorak College you will:

  • Design and deliver captivating lessons that foster a love for Mathematics.
  • Create problem-solving activities that engage students' critical thinking abilities.
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Encourage collaborative learning and teamwork among students.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to guide student progress.
  • Stay abreast of educational trends and incorporate innovative teaching techniques.
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity and academic excellence.
  • Collaborate with high performing fellow educators to contribute to a vibrant Maths program within the school.
Experience teaching International students within the mainstream classroom is considered advantageous.

Specific classes and year levels taught will be determined according to the candidates expertise, experience, and operational requirements. Experience teaching at VCE level (particularly Specialist Maths) is considered advantageous.

This is a full-time position for the 2026 School year only.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Education, Maths or a related field such as Engineering.
  • Appropriate teaching qualifications and registration (VIT registration essential).
  • Proven experience in teaching  Maths to students across different age groups.
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to connect with students.
  • A proven capacity for innovative, flexible and research-based teaching practice.
