Role and Responsibilities:
This position involves teaching individual instrumental music lessons, preparing students for AMEB or VCE Performance examinations, assisting with ensembles/performance and report writing. The current lesson load for this casual position is approximately 6-7 hours per week, with the opportunity to increase these hours according to student demand.
Currently the vacancy is for Fridays
with assisting ensemble rehearsal, however day/s can be negotiated. The successful applicant will be offered a casual, sessional role paid in line with the hourly rates set out by the Victorian Music Teachers Association.
About You:
- Professional level experience on the Double Bass/Electric Bass.
- Ability to teach the guitar is also advantageous.
- Demonstrated success in taking individual and small group instrumental lessons, with students from Junior School to VCE.
- Possess an inherent understanding and passion for teaching children in a school setting.
- Possess an outstanding commitment to excellence in music education and a proven capacity for innovative, flexible and research-based teaching practice.
- Be committed to the consistent delivery of lessons during term time.
- Bachelor of Music or equivalent experience.
