About the Role:
As the Junior School Sport Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning and leading the School Sport Victoria (SSV) and Girls’ Sport Victoria (GSV) sports programs in the Junior School, as well as managing the School’s representative teams in SSV cross country, track and field and swimming events for Years 3–6. You will work closely with students and staff to empower our students to thrive on and off the field.

This Position of Responsibility is fixed for 3 years. The full time teaching component of this position is ongoing. 

The position commences at the start of the 2026 School Year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver a Physical Education program within the Junior School
  • Lead, manage and oversee all Junior School SSV sporting teams, activities and events, including attending all meetings relating to the events.
  • Assist with Junior School House sporting carnivals, including swimming, athletics and cross country as well as leading other Prep - Year 2 carnivals relating to the House program at Toorak College.
  • Co-ordinate the weekly Sport programs for Years 3-6
  • Promote student engagement in sport by leading training and sporting activities multiple times per week outside of a student’s classroom commitments.
  • Support student development and team performance through clear, published selection guidelines, in collaboration with the Head of Sport.
  • Maintain student records related to performance data for team selections and awards.
  • Maintain sports equipment and resources to ensure their safety.
  • Provide first aid and medical assistance as required.
  • Liaise with staff, external venues, and suppliers.
  • Encourage student participation in sport.
  • Uphold safety, wellbeing, and positive sporting values.
About You:
To be considered for this position, applicants should demonstrate a genuine passion for sport and have experience in co-ordinating and managing school sports programs. You will also possess the following:
  • VIT Registration and experience in delivering motivating PE Curriculum.
  • A track record of success in building highly effective teams within a primary school setting. 
  • A well-informed understanding of contemporary learning practices, research and pedagogy.
  • Ability to develop rapport with students, staff and parents.
  • Passionate about inspiring students to participate in sport.
  • Trained in first aid, anaphylaxis, CPR and asthma treatment.
  • Relevant experience in sports or data administration.
