Our Performing Arts programs provide students with opportunities to develop confidence, creativity, collaboration and performance skills through a diverse range of co-curricular activities. Role and Responsibilities:
As the Performing Arts, Dance & Aerobics Coordinator at Toorak College, you will provide coordination and administrative support across the School’s Performing Arts and competitive performance programs, ensuring their smooth and effective operation. This role is part-time, fixed term for Term 1, 2027, providing long service leave cover. The role may be made larger by taking on coaching opportunities across the term.
Working collaboratively with staff, coaches, students and families, you will:
- Coordinate TAPA, Aerobics and Dancestar programs across Prep–Year 12, including coach allocations, relief coverage, registrations, teams, schedules and competition preparation.
- Coordinate the School’s Aerobics and Dancestar programs across Years 3 – 12, including coach allocations, relief coverage, student registrations, teams, schedules and competition preparation.
- Provide ongoing support, guidance and coordination to the coaching team, promoting a consistent and effective approach across programs.
- Lead the administrative and organisational requirements associated with the School Musical, working closely with the Director and Director of Music.
- Coordinate key events including the Aerobics and Dancestar Display Night and Team Sunday rehearsal.
- Manage registrations, team entries, music uploads and competition schedules through relevant external portals.
- Maintain accurate student teams, attendance records, calendars, schedules and program information across Veracross and other relevant systems.
- Oversee program budgets, resources, costumes, props, equipment and first-aid requirements.
- Lead communication with students and families regarding TAPA, Aerobics, Dancestar and the School Musical.
- Coordinate activity registrations, payments and selections in conjunction with the relevant co-curricular support teams.
- Maintain effective communication and liaison with staff, students, families and external organisations to ensure programs and events are well organised and successfully delivered; and
- Contribute to the promotion and profile of Dance, Drama and Performing Arts across the School.
You are an organised and proactive professional with a genuine passion for Performing Arts and experience coordinating programs, events or activities in a school or similar environment. You will be confident in managing multiple priorities, communicating with a diverse range of stakeholders and ensuring the administrative and operational requirements of programs are delivered efficiently. You will bring strong attention to detail, excellent organisational and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, coaches, students, families and external providers. You will be adaptable, solutions-focused and comfortable taking initiative in a busy and varied environment. Experience in Performing Arts, Dance, Aerobics, event management or co-curricular program coordination within an education environment will be highly regarded.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Relevant qualification in Performing Arts, Dance or a related discipline, with additional training in Arts, Event or Program Management desirable.
- Experience coordinating Performing Arts, Dance, Aerobics, events or co-curricular programs, with relevant program or event management experience highly regarded.
- Current Working with Children Check – Employer.
- Strong organisational, administrative and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, students, families and external providers.
